Jon Cohen is a seasoned expert in brand strategy and brand research, with over two decades of experience guiding companies through some of their most critical and transformative moments. As the former President of a mid-sized brand strategy consultancy, Jon oversaw and personally led impactful brand development and business strategy initiatives across a wide array of industries, including media and entertainment, consumer products, B2B technology, professional services, real estate, and nonprofits.
Jon specializes in tackling complex business and brand challenges. Whether a company has outgrown its brand, is navigating complex M&A activity, undergoing rapid growth, pursuing a major liquidity event, or grappling with significant organizational change, Jon’s approach is rooted in simplifying complexity and driving clarity. His work includes crafting brand positioning, brand architecture, messaging frameworks, comprehensive brand platforms (vision, mission, values, and personality), and conducting brand research to quantify brand perception and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to brand health.
Prior to his consultancy leadership, Jon led the strategic direction and global brand perception research for the global Disney brand. His earlier career includes roles in brand management at Dole Packaged Foods, consulting at KPMG, and investment finance at PIMCO, where he developed a unique blend of analytical rigor and creative strategy that underpins his approach today.
Jon lives in Los Angeles with his wife, two teenage sons, and their cat, Paco. An avid cook and tequila connoisseur, Jon travels extensively, enjoys listening to podcasts, and plays multiple sports, all of which he is mediocre at.
